Mustard Sausage Rolls

Elevate your sausage rolls with mustard for a great anytime bar snack, lunch or party food option with a kick!

Ingredients
• 400g puff pastry
• 500g sausage meat
• 150g apples, grated with peel on
• 30ml Colman’s Wholegrain Mustard
• 15g Knorr Professional Mixed Herbs Puree
• 10g Knorr Professional Mixed Chilli Puree
• 50g egg
• 15ml Colman’s English Mustard
Method
  1. Preheat oven to 190C. Roll out the puff pastry to 0.5cm thick.
  2. Place the sausage meat, grated apple, Colman's Wholegrain Mustard, Knorr Professional Mixed Herb Puree into a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix well, roll into a sausage shape and wrap in cling film, then place in the fridge.
  4. Dust the surface with a little flour and place down the puff pastry then cut into 2 rectangles.
  5. Along the long edge, spread a thin even line of the Knorr Professional Chilli Puree. Repeat on the other piece of pastry then place the sausage meat mix on top, close to one of the edges.
  6. Starting from the sausage meat side, roll the pastry to form a complete tube. Join the ends together to create a circle on a baking paper lined tin. Chill and allow the sausage roll to firm.
  7. Take out and make cuts at 45 degrees 3/4 of the way through the roll. Do this every 3cm.
  8. Beat the egg with the Colman's English Mustard.
  9. Place the sausage rolls or rings on to a suitable tray, brush with the egg wash and bake for 20-25 mins or until golden and thoroughly cooked.
