The patriotic day (23 April) falls on a Tuesday this year and, as Easter is so late, it comes hot on the heels of the bank holiday weekend. Why not host a party on the Tuesday night to see off the holiday weekend in style – or push it back to the following weekend as another chance to increase revenue?

We’re lucky to have some wonderful English dishes that make the perfect centrepiece for your event. Whether you do a brunch offer with a full English breakfast, a snacky lunch with pork pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs, dinner with favourites like fish and chips or a full roast there are so many crowd pleasers to choose from. Alternatively, tap into the trend for afternoon tea and serve up a tempting array of delicate savouries and scrumptious sweet treats.
Drinks
Whatever your customers like, whatever time of day you’re planning an event for, there’s an English drink that’s perfect. From the much loved cup of tea, to the amazing varieties of beer on offer and even English wine, you’ll find the perfect pairing for the food you choose. Think about hosting a speciality gin event offering some of the finest gins that England has to offer – served with quintessentially English soft fruits such as blackberries, raspberries and blackcurrants. For a whimsical English look, serve soft drinks in jam jars with red and white striped paper straws. And of course no celebration would be complete without pitchers of Pimms – so make sure you are stocked up!
Entertainment
England is known around the world for its musical exports so spend time putting together an all-English playlist. Include well known English bands or a covers band to perform some top tunes live on the night. Alternatively, make it a costume party, inviting people to dress as famous English icons or as a character relating to the story of St George – a knight or even a dragon – with a prize for the best one!
