Food trends: More millet, more sustainability

Millet is a sustainable, nutritious grain which the UN believes is essential in our fight against climate change and food insecurity. Inspired by this, Knorr has also identified millet as one of its top Future 50 Foods and is working with the World Wildlife Fund to promote sustainable ingredients. James Birch from Unilever says: “Our choice of what we cook as chefs can have a positive impact beyond the plate.”

To add millet to your menu, use it like couscous, tossed through a salad, or dressed with roasted vegetables. You can make a millet pilaf or swap rice for millet with curries or stews. Throw a cup of millet into soups to thicken or use instead of oats to make a hearty spiced apple porridge.
